8 Gemini rises

Love and money are two very frequent topics in astrology. Here a client asks when she can expect a marriage and kids. After the two previous questions that had No for an answer, I'm happy to write up some good news.

The time of the question has 8 Gemini rising; and the client's own 7th house cusp, representing the beginning of the house of partners, is at 6 Gemini. We know we are on the right track with the timing of this question.

With Gemini ascendant the client is represented by Mercury and the Moon. In all questions of love we look to Venus as well. Let's examine each in turn.

Mercury is retrograde at 9 Sagittarius, smack on the 7th house cusp. What does the client want? A partnership! Her mind may be leaning towards a past relationship. The ruler of the 1st in the 7th shows the desire for partnership; but it will only come about when the rulers of both houses get together. Jupiter is in Scorpio and there is no aspect, antiscia or translation that will make it happen, but we do note that Mercury will land on the 7th cusp in about half a unit of time. Let's look to the Moon.

We give weight to the Moon for a few reasons. The Moon always co-represents the querent with an emphasis on emotions and flow of events. Here the ruler of the Ascendant is retrograde and since there are no planets that are exalted in Gemini the Moon will have more emphasis. Also the question is not just about romance - it is about being married and having kids. Moon is in Cancer, the sign of motherhood, so here again we see the chart reflecting the question. With Moon in the 2nd, there may be some financial concern as well.

The next aspect the Moon makes is to trine Jupiter, the ruler of the 7th. This is a curious aspect. On one hand, Jupiter exalts Cancer - this shows that her partner will like her quite a lot! But Moon isn't too fond of Scorpio so maybe when this relationship comes about she still has doubts. Still, a trine between Moon and Jupiter with great receptions in at least one direction is enough to bring about a partnership. We can expect something in about 2 units of time.

Looking to Venus, we see her in Capricorn in the 8th house right at the bendings of the nodes. The nodes themselves are often overlooked in Western astrology, and the bendings even more so. Since the nodes are at 12 Libra / Aries 43, the bendings are at 12 Capricorn / Cancer 43. The bendings show a change in path or direction. Venus has just past this position by 7 minutes and indeed she recently had a significant end to a relationship. Venus in the 8th has a ways to go before anything is happening; we also know she will turn retrograde in early Aquarius and back into Capricorn again for several weeks. So we know that these units of time are not immediate - definitely not days, probably not weeks. Our choices are months or years, which also make sense in a question of marriage and children. These things do not happen overnight.

We also look to the Arabic parts for confirmation, especially the parts of marriage and children. The part of marriage is at 4 Taurus. This again is curious. Moon exalts Taurus, so this is quite strong and positive aspect; yet the part itself falls on the 12th house cusp. Still it is applying in about 1.5 units of time. There are two parts for children, one for sons and one for daughters. The part of sons is at 10 Libra conjunct the South node, so I think this is less likely. The part of daughters is at 18 Sagittarius, conjunct Venus by antiscion by about 1.5 degrees. Since Venus rules Libra and this sign is intercepted in the 5th, we can say that there is a future possibility of a daughter.  And with the part in Sagittarius with ruler Jupiter in fertile Scorpio making an aspect to a fertile Moon in Cancer, we have the strong possibility of more than one child.

So when will all this happen? Common sense says years is more likely than months but to be safe I checked her natal chart. Sure enough both relationships and children will be highly activated in about a year and a half from now. It is certainly possible that she may meet this man sooner. We go back to Mercury, the initial ruler of the client, who lands on the 7th house cusp in half a unit of time. Since we have seen that a unit in this case is years, this means she may meet this person in about 6 months. The answer to her question of when to expect a husband and children is in about a year and a half. In terms of number of children, both the question and her chart support having at least 2 children.
