Star Pearls 1*24*05

Dear friends,

This week: Goddess Arts and the toughest week of the year.

It's Aquarius season and time to learn something new. Women, ever wish for a school that taught classes in subjects that were actually useful? Like Movement, Pleasure, and Relating to name a few. Now you can at the Goddess Arts Institute. This sounds oh so Marin but I know one of the founders and she is anything but frou-frou. See for yourself here:

I will be teaching 1 hour of the Lifestyle night on reading an astrology calendar with a focus on the Moon. Others on the teaching staff are quite talented and this is something to really check out. Mens' courses in the works too.

*

Now some notes on the week. We begin with the magnificence of a Full Moon in Leo early Tuesday morning. Moon in Leo is about the spotlight, and Aquarius is about sharing it. The message of this full Moon: when we live with our hearts, we rejoice in the ways we shine to the world AND the ways everyone shines to us. We live with abundance (Leo) in ways that honor our community (Aquarius).

After this, things get really tough. The scribe doesn't like bad news any more than you dear readers do. But I don't arrange the planets, just report on them. We have Mercury and Venus opposite Saturn at the same time as Mars hits Pluto. Remember Sun opposite Saturn on 1/13? A few people wrote back - feelings of struggle, nothing working, negativity, tough week all round. This time both Mercury (our minds) and Venus (our love and desire) face off with the cold heavy great malefic Saturn. Mercury opposite Saturn is a challenge to maintain our positive mind. Venus opposite Saturn is a test of love. We have to make extra efforts to stay positive and keep our hearts warm and open. And because Venus connects to desire energy, which is the juice of this realm, we can feel fatigue here too.

At the same time, Mars edges closer to Pluto - the aspect is exact on 1/28. Mars-Pluto is the cycle of terror. Something will probably blow up big time. But it is not only Iraq that is terrorized - though they've got it really bad (Election near this aspect, not wise). What are the cycles of violence in our own lives? Mars is anger, and Pluto intensifies - we can experience full blown rage this week.

The feeling of these aspects combined - breakup gone bad. Splitsville, then people who once lived in love feeling the burn of hate.

What can we do?

First Mercury: what makes you happy? I mean really. Think positive thoughts as much as you can.

Next Venus: What and who do you love? Bring that to mind and heart as much as possible.  Flowers are love buds from the world. Roses - fresh, red and luscious; rose water, yummy in Indian desserts; rose oil, intoxicating in a diffuser - all help the heart. We are all worthy of love whether we think so or not.

Now Mars: exercise to your max. Think spinning classes, dancing for 5 hours, not 2 but 3 sets of weights. Screaming is not out of the question. And whatever calms you down. Chamomile tea deserves its name (sounds like Calm-o-smile.) Buy the fresh flowers, not just bags, make it by the tablespoon and you'll understand. And since Chamomile is an herb of the Sun according to the traditional astrologer-herbalists, is especially good for Aquarius season, where the Sun is considered weak.

This is the true benefit of astrology - knowing something of the energies before they happen, so we can do something about it.

Before I stray too far from the subject of disasters, I must report on something else. After my false alarm of an earthquake last year, I am *very* reluctant to pass on any such warnings in this column. However, a prominent Tibetan teacher is warning of a California earthquake in 2005. It is my experience that the Tibetans know energetically what is up with both people and the planet. Read about it here:

http://www.vajrapani.org/earthquake.html

If a teacher with this kind of standing warns of a big shaker, it is indeed worth heeding. Besides, after the winter tsunami anyone in the Bay Area not prepared for a quake is, shall we say, a dolt? Note the recommendations - earthquakes are a matter of negative energy. Cultivate positive forces any way you like. Thank and bless the earth. Love where you live. Peace, peace, peace.

Star*Watch
All times PDT. See below for comments on other visible planets.

Sun * in Aquarius. Aquarius is the energy of the collective. We shun the spotlight and place it on others. Aquarius is also about knowledge. Learn something new - and read up on astrology.

Moon * days 15 - 21 (new Moon is day 1). We open the week with a big full Moon in Leo.

Monday 1/24 * Moon in Cancer, into Leo in the afternoon, Venus square Jupiter. We love ohh so much til it hurts. We appreciate our teachers, but we may find their message to be tough to swallow. We enjoy shopping, but may have bought a bit too much. Tonight is the big Full Moon. What does it mean to you to live like royalty?

Tuesday 1/25 * Full Moon in Leo in the wee hours, Mercury opposite Saturn. We wake and the emotional tension of the Full Moon has passed, but our minds face off with Saturn. Easy to fall into negative thinking & belief in struggle - think positive.

Wednesday 1/26 * Moon in Leo. A day between the Saturn aspects - give yourself a break and go play. Sports, video games, musical instruments, whatever turns you on.

Thursday 1/27 * Moon into Virgo, Venus opposite Saturn. Uck. This is just a tough day. Our minds are critical with Moon in Virgo, and we are feeling the lack of love.

Friday 1/28 * Moon in Virgo, Mars conjunct Pluto. The very best uses of this aspect are all ways we can harness anger to do something positive. While in general we accomplish more by being peaceful and relaxed, today we can get a lot done with anger fueled activity. And exercise with Mars is always good. The risks on this day: blowups & extreme rage.

Saturday 1/29 * Moon in Virgo, into Libra in the afternoon, Mercury into Aquarius. Whew, a more positive day after a rough week. Moon in Libra brings energy to relationships, which probably need some loving attention after Venus opposite Saturn. Mercury into Aquarius means we excel at learning - we've all got 3 weeks of an especially quick and wise mind.

Sunday 1/30 * Moon in Libra. When the Sun and Moon cooperate by being both in Air signs, there is harmony. Air is about communication - with Mercury in Aquarius, learn about communication in relationships.

Have a stellar week!

Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl
