Dear friends,

The island of Buena Yerba, where all the residents know their astrology, is in its last week of month-long Venus exaltation hurrahs. Festivities culminate this Friday (Venus day), Saturday with Venus at her most favored degree, and Sunday with the Spring Equinox.

Not since the days of "4 Exaltations and Jupiter Blessings" have we had a week like this. Back very early in Star*Pearls in April 2003, there was a particular 2 days where the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars were all exalted, and Jupiter turned direct. I haven't checked when we'll have such a repeat again, but probably not in our lifetimes. This week not only is Venus heading into her exaltation degree, but Mars spends two days, Wednesday and Thursday, on his exaltation degree as well. On Buena Yerba this weekend will go down as the "Great Venus Mars Equinox."

What does this mean? Venus, Goddess of love, beauty and pleasure, is at her most expansive, open, giving, and loving place in the whole zodiac. Mars, God of war and boldness, is at his most ambitious, productive, properly channeled point. Well directed is all we can ask of Mars, who is always a bit wild.

Venus trine Saturn means we find love with old things and people - classical music, old movies, antiques, elders.

Tuesday 3/15 * Moon in Gemini. Our focus goes from the pleasure and safety of Taurus to the curious mind of Gemini. With Mercury about to turn retrograde, our minds are extra-active. Back up your computer now.

Wednesday 3/16 * Moon in Gemini, Mars at exaltation degree. Today Mars is at his most bold, confident and productive. Whatever demands confidence and pursuit, this is the time!

Thursday 3/17 * Moon in Gemini, then into Cancer, Mars at exaltation degree, Venus square Pluto. Pluto aspects are the stuff of tragedy. The Greeks had Euripides, we have movies. As in the Gladiator, this week we are stripped down and may lose some of what we hold dear (Sun and Venus square Pluto) only to regain our dignity and love in the end (Mars and Venus exalted).

Friday 3/18 * Moon in Cancer. Venus day, Venus near exaltation degree - let the festivities begin! Luckily here in the Bay Area we are not too far from the spirit of Buena Yerba. Check out bellydance troupe Ultra Gypsy's two day fest on 3/18-19.

Saturday 3/19 * Moon in Cancer, Venus at exaltation degree, Mercury retrograde. We live our highest love today and give it to all we meet. A festival of Queens - Moon in her favorite sign of Cancer and the celebrations of lady Venus.

Sunday 3/20 * Moon in Leo, Sun into Aries, Mars into Aquarius. Today the Sun enters its own exaltation fire sign of Aries and Moon moves into the fire sign of Leo - a parade of Kings. Happy Equinox!
