Star Pearls 3*21*05
Dear friends,
Happy Spring! On the island of Buena Yerba, where all the residents know
their astrology, Venus festivities had not even ended when Sun celebrations
began. The Sun is now in Aries, its exaltation sign. The energy of the Sun
is light, truth, power, fame and life itself. Residents of the island are
wearing their gold jewelry and dressing in colors to match: brilliant
yellows, scarlet and sunset reds, and an occasional green in honor of the
season.
Is this too much partying for you? In Medieval Europe, before the so-called
Enlightenment, feast days numbered in the hundreds per year. And after we
spend time relaxing into a greater love, we pursue our power. These normally
opposing principles are reconciled by the wise. "Power without love is
reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic,"
says the great Martin Luther King.
In Pisces we focus on the love; in Aries we build our strength. When we skip
the Pisces step, we have a more Mars oriented Aries energy and its resulting
strife and war. But with the wisdom of Pisces connection, Aries is the
greatest time of new life and vitality.

A few people came up to me last week: "I thought Venus was happy ... but
last week was rough!" Yes, we had two Pluto transits - Sun square Pluto on
Monday and Venus square Pluto Thursday night. Pluto is the most difficult of
the outer planets. So although I wrote of them in the day-by-day, I will be
sure to call more attention to major Pluto transits so we are not taken by
surprise.
As we know from Mercury retrograde (yes, it has started), the time we
experience the energy of planets most intensely is at the turn backwards in
the sky. This is when the planet is closest to the Earth. The movement
forward, the station direct, also emphasizes the energy but more in a
releasing and cathartic kind of way. We are experiencing this with Saturn
today. Still heavy, but easier than the retrograde we had last fall just
after election day. But I must tell you that we are heading into Pluto
retrograde this Saturday.
What to do with this energy? With Astrodatabank, the most comprehensive
collection of charts available, I checked several years worth of people who
were born into this energy. What type of person came up most commonly?
Athletes. Magic Johnson, Alberto Tomba (Olympic skier), Tracy Austin (famous
tennis player) and whole host of lesser known male and female athletes from
a variety of sports. Pluto intensifies and like Mars has an energy that is
not well reasoned with. Pluto demands physical release.
So with the Sun in Aries and the fresh energy of Spring, there is no better
time to play your sport, or start again if you've been lax. Eat red meat,
exercise, and transform the sentiment of Pisces time into the strength of
the Aries warrior hero.

All times PDT. See below for comments on other visible planets. The Sun and
Moon together set the tone of the time. The Sun provides our orientation for
the month; Moon signs and aspects influence the energy of the day, and tells
us how we approach the truth of the Sun. Planet aspects influence the
energies for several days (sometimes weeks) before and even after the aspect
depending on the nature of the planets involved.
Sun * in Aries. New beginnings! Sun into the first sign of the zodiac means
new life. We pursue our power and strength. The Sun is exalted in Aries, but
Aries remains a sign of Mars.
Moon * days 12 - 18 (new Moon is day 1. Full Moon in Libra on Friday. How do
we balance our own lives and selves with our relationships?
Monday 3/21 * Moon in Leo, Saturn direct. Whatever houses of Capricorn and
Aquarius in your chart, whether you have planets in these signs or not,
these areas of life now resume forward motion. Moon in Leo likes to live it
up, but Saturn changing direction is giving us a heaviness that will give
some relief as Saturn again starts moving forward.
Tuesday 3/22 * Moon in Leo, into Virgo in the evening, Venus into Aries.
Venus now joins the Sun and Mercury in Aries. There is a fundamental
contradiction between Venus and this sign that is not the best for romance.
Venus naturally takes the twosome into account, but Aries is entirely me and
mine. Love em, leave em, love another one is more like it. The best of Venus
in Aries: new adventure in love.
Wednesday 3/23 * Moon in Virgo. With Mercury retrograde, we take care of
tasks that have been sitting too long in our inbox. With these days of Moon
in Virgo, we're on accomplishment energy. If you didn't finish your Spring
cleaning, now is your time to catch up.
Thursday 3/24 * Moon in Virgo. The energy builds towards full Moon and
towards the Pluto station. What to do with the Virgo energy of health,
improvement and accomplishment? Read up on health and diet. Revise your
exercise program. And work out!
Friday 3/25 * Full Moon in Libra, Venus sextile Mars. If are going to have a
hot new love affair with Venus into Aries, today would be the day. Full Moon
in Libra means we have to balance our relationships and their needs and
desires with our own. A positive connection between Venus and Mars makes
this easier - no strings attached please, we're in Aries and Aquarius, but
we can have a little fun to take our minds off of Pluto. Astrologer's choice
for movie of the week: Downfall.
Saturday 3/26 * Moon in Libra, Pluto retrograde. Our darkness comes to the
surface. The astro cliche of Pluto is Intensity, but really it's true. Do
what people born with this aspect do: exercise and compete.
Sunday 3/27 * Moon into Scorpio. Moon into Scorpio will make dealing with
our dark Pluto emotions a bit easier. Want relief from this week? The astro
is much more pleasant the week of 3/28!
Have a stellar week!
Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl
