Star Pearls 6*20*05
Dear friends,
Have you had enough thinking? Enough chatting, reading, writing, and talking?
Good. The Sun is about to enter Cancer, joining Mercury and Venus in the sign of
deep feeling. Our thoughts are now not as important as the sound of the bird
singing, the flowers, the silhouette of the tree against the sky, the rhythm of
our own breath.
Just as Gemini insists on collecting and exchanging information, Cancer requires
emotional awareness and sensitivity. We are all turning within. And at the same
time we are sensitive to others around us. Take care! is the ultimatum of
Cancer. And in our busy culture, this is an art - learning to genuinely care for
ourselves and others. How do we do this? Only with the bounty of Mother Earth,
the natural world: time in nature, eating singing salads, happy vegetables &
healthy animals, learning the magic of herbs, and the art of tea.
The Sun enters Cancer late Monday night. Feel the heart of life in the womb of
the universe. This is the origin of souls, a place of beginnings. Who are you,
really? At the same time it is a fulfillment, the maximum expression of the Sun.
What has grown in your life since the winter solstice? These are the four pivots
of our existence - two solstices, two equinoxes - each times when the Sun sets
off in new directions.
Cancer is *the* sign of nourishment. What do we take in to our bodies? What are
we eating? What distressing news are we digesting? Are we at home in our homes?
Who makes up our true family? Where do we find meaning in our crazy world? With
3 planets in Cancer, we need time for answers to these questions to arise from a
place of deeper knowing. We don't need to think about it or figure it out. Just
be with the sunset, and you'll know.

All times PDT. See below for comments on other visible planets. The Sun and Moon
together set the tone of the time. The Sun is our outer orientation for the
month; Moon signs and aspects are the energetic pulls of the day, and tell us
how we approach the truth of the Sun. Planet aspects influence the energies for
several days (sometimes weeks) before and even after the aspect depending on the
nature of the planets involved.
Sun * in Gemini, into Cancer. We are done with all gathering of information. Now
our curiosity turns to the realm of our insides and our enjoyment to the natural
world. With Sun in Cancer, we are feeling most of all. How to take care of
ourselves and others? We eat well among our tribe of friends and true family.
The trap of Cancer - crab claws that just won't let go.
Moon * days 15 - 21 (new Moon is day 1). Full Moon in Capricorn Tuesday night.
Monday 6/20 * Moon in Sagittarius, Sun into Cancer late night. Our last day of
special powers in collecting information. With Moon in Sag, we expand our minds.
Tuesday 6/21 * Moon in Sagittarius, into Capricorn in the evening. We awake to
the Sun in the heart of Being. In this modern age, many of us cannot take proper
time to honor the Sun at the solstices and equinoxes. Do what you can. Give
thanks to the warmth of the world, the heat of our heartbeat. Sun salutations,
sun-bathing, orange juice, surrounding yourself with plants - wherever you find
your light. Indian astrology is called Jyotish, the science of light. In our
world there is one ultimate source of all light, the glorious Sun.
Wednesday 6/22 * Moon in Capricorn. We awake with a charge, but today we are too
serious. Venus and Mercury are coming closer and closer to old cold Saturn. We
are experiencing fear in love and doomsday thoughts. Chill, roll with it, don't
dwell. If worries are getting you down, feel safe and restored with Vetiver, oil
of the Moon. Available here.
Thursday 6/23 * Moon in Capricorn, into Aquarius in the evening. This afternoon
is difficult, but by the evening the heaviness lifts. Cancer-Aquarius is a
curious combination. We nourish ourselves with knowledge.
Friday 6/24 * Moon in Aquarius. The good news: Mercury and Venus are traveling
together - our minds and desires are in harmony, we think beautiful thoughts, we
are all artists. The bad news: both Mercury and Venus are applying to Saturn -
we have fears, we may be thinking negatively in spite of beauty around us.
Bittersweet melancholy, deep ironies, contradictions.
Saturday 6/25 * Moon in Aquarius, into Pisces in the evening, Mars opposite
Jupiter, Venus conjunct Saturn. The contradictions are almost too much to
handle. Mars opposite Jupiter is huge conquest and boldness of the young; Venus
conjunct Saturn is dismay in love and yet attraction to old things. How to work
with these energies? Combine valor and tradition, vigor and sensitivity, bravery
and restraint. At least with Moon in Pisces in the evening we can find art and
music to echo the complexity of our feelings.
Sunday 6/26 * Moon in Pisces, Mercury conjunct Saturn. We awake and know
difficulties have passed. What have we learning about our minds? About our
desires? Saturn is the test. Can we stay positive in the face of everything
there is to worry about? Can we love in the face of all there is to fear? This
is our challenge of the week: stay positive and loving the best you can. Yes, we
deserve good thoughts, and yes we all deserve some love.
Have a stellar week!
Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl
If you don't want to know that you'll be feeling double with the Sun into
Cancer, just reply with a "No thanks" and you'll be off the list.
Wandering Stars - the planets
Mercury * in Cancer. We think with our feelings. We are intuitive, sensitive and
more psychic. Our minds go to food, home, family, children, and everything we
find inside our own soul. Mercury in Cancer through June 27.
Venus * in Cancer. Lover Venus in mother Cancer loves children, feelings, food
and the natural world. She is sensitive and creative here, an artistic lover,
deeply aware, intuitive and protective. Yet Saturn's here, so Venus chills, and
she attracts older things and people. Venus in Cancer through June 28.
Mars * in Aries. The hero on a new quest, the confident one who boldly acts, the
warrior with raw physical power. Mars in Aries is always strong, but now with
the North node is extra pumped. Mars in Aries through July 27.
Jupiter * in Libra. Blessings in love and partnerships! Learning in realms of
art and beauty. Jupiter now direct, so abundance and blessings are coming our
way! Jupiter in Libra through October 2005.
Saturn * in Cancer. Structure and responsibility in the domain of our innermost
feeling life and among our families and tribes. A positive vision of this
energy: the sensitive yet authoritative parent. Saturn direct in Cancer through
July 2005.
