Dear friends,
This week: strategies for Saturn in Leo, but first the astro news.
Mars entered Taurus late Wednesday 7/27, and our energy of drive and action has
shifted from the charge ahead Aries ram to the confined pastures of the Taurus
bull. Mars in Taurus is drive for safety and pleasure. Instead of going for that
exciting new job that doesn't pay as much, we're content to stick with what we
know and line our bank account with security cash. We're uneasy if too far in
debt - one reason why I'm predicting Mars' extended 6 month stay in Taurus will
cool the real estate boom. Details
here on the predictions page.
With the warrior in the most fixed of signs, we have a tenacious and even
irascible will power. Whatever our project, we've got staying power. We're
digging our heels in, not easily moved.
Taurus is also a sign of Venus, and that means sensuality, especially touch,
smells, tastes, sensations. With Mars in Taurus, pleasure is in the vigor. And
since Taurus is a sign of the throat and voice, I hereby predict louder love
sighs from your neighbors (and hopefully you as well!) for the next 6 months.
But for now lover Venus in the sign of the sacred Virgin, so some of these
pleasures drives are muted in favor of productivity. Venus in Virgo loves to
organize, improve and accomplish. Venus has two more weeks here, just about the
same time as Mercury will be retrograde. Put future projects on hold and take
care of overdue tasks. No better time to clean up. Get the work done now - when
Venus joins Jupiter in Libra we'll move towards relationships in a big way.
As much as Mars and Venus in earth signs are leading us to tangible projects and
material results, Jupiter is also nearing the Tail of the Dragon, the South node
of the Moon. While mostly underrated in Western astrology, Indian astrology
views the nodes like planets. These points are shadowy and complex, but the
dragon's path is the movement of life in the chart. Jupiter is now at the
letting go point, the release, the place where material riches pale after the
experience of divine love and sublime seeing. The BMW doesn't mean a thing after
meeting the guru. Now through August 15th is one of the best times of the year
for mediation and spiritual teachings.

A few weeks ago Saturn moved from Cancer to Leo. While Cancer is now free to be
her nourishing self, Leo is not the bold leader he once was. Leo is now subject
to Saturn's blocks, delays, challenges, and lessons learned the hard way.
Because Saturn is never easy, the traditional astrologer will recommend a
variety of strategies to help Leo along. Yes King Leo, the people are in revolt
and you've got a stressful situation on your hands, but here is a potion to help
you deal. What might be our mysterious mix?
Let's start with the body. Leo is the sign of the heart and back. For these 2.5
years, our hearts need a boost. We can eat to redden our blood, making our heart
work less, and keep heart-toxic insulin in check. A traditional astrologer might
recommend hawthorne, an ancient heart tonic herb still widely used in Europe,
for regular use. [1]. COQ10 get more press here in the US [2]. Both of these are
worth checking out, especially for people with family history of heart attacks
or heart disease, or for anyone wishing to improve their vitality. Cholesterol
lowering drugs block our natural production of this heart-essential COQ10, so if
this is an issue, do your research. Here is one of the best sources I have found
with tips for a healthy heart:

Maybe it is your
back that will need more attention. Massage, yoga, Feldenkrais, and chiropractic
can benefit a constrained back. Or install a pull-up bar in a doorway and do a
set several times a day - you will strengthen and stretch your back at the same
time.
Exercise builds a healthy heart. One of the many interesting points in the book
at the tinyurl above is that this doesn't necessarily mean logging the miles or
time on the stairmaster, but increasing peak capacity of the heart. This comes
from bursts of intense activity, then rest. This trains the heart to grow to
handle more blood. The heart is a muscle, and exercise is essential to keep its
tone.
We all know the heart is a very special kind of muscle. Biceps get bigger with
curls, but the size of our heart is not measured by how fast we can run. How
much are we loving? Could this be the key medical test of an enlighted age?
Instead of cholesterol, they'll rate our experience of love. Wow, 87 out of 100,
that's pretty good love measure, we'll see you next year. Oh, 62, what's
happening with you? We recommend some life changing strategies to allow more
love into your life! And no one under 50 will be elible for politics. In
Saturn's time in Leo, we put extra time and attention to heal and open our
hearts. Love itself takes extra gumption, because we have to deal with Saturn's
coldness and fear, the obstacles to love.
To warm our souls we can take time to actually see the Sun, especially during
its special times: rising, high noon, sunset.
And when your loving needs a little lifting, there is one time tested remedy
that has been scientifically validated to boot - chocolate! Only dark will do.

Star*Watch
All times PDT. See below for comments on other visible planets. The Sun and Moon
together set the tone of the time. The Sun is our outer orientation for the
month; Moon signs and aspects are the energetic pulls of the day, and tell us
how we approach the truth of the Sun. Planet aspects influence the energies for
several days (sometimes weeks) before and even after the aspect depending on the
planets involved.
Sun * in Leo. We want to shine. We live a bit of our movie-star glamour life. We
dress with a bit more snazz, and act with panache. We're living it large. Though
Saturn is now in Leo, the Sun has past the test and difficulties feel on the
wane. The trap of Leo - me me me!
Moon * days 27 - 4 (new Moon is day 1). New Moon in Leo Thursday night.
Monday 8/1 * Moon in Cancer. With Saturn out of the sign of nourishment, we can
return to Cancerian rituals to soothe our soul. Time with tea, potting herbs to
grow outside the kitchen, cooking, eating and all means of nesting are easier
now than they have been in years, literally. At the same time we'll love to
organize and accomplish today and tomorrow.
Tuesday 8/2 * Moon in Cancer, Mercury opposite Neptune. Happy days today and
tomorrow - both the Sun and Moon are in positive places. Mercury is moving slow,
so this opposition has been in effect for a few days. We're attracted to movies,
music, art and alcohol, but know it is just a passing fantasy.
Wednesday 8/3 * Moon in Cancer, into Leo in the evening. With Jupiter near the
Tail of the Dragon (see above) we're benefiting from spiritual teachings and
pursuits. No better Moon sign than Cancer to turn within. This afternoon and
evening we get more serious; some battle fear of action, fear of success, fear
of being seen. If you want to know what Saturn in Leo means for you, watch your
thoughts and feelings tonight, especially 9 to midnight. If sleep in a city
gives you occasional fits, tonight is one for Valerian or your favorite snoozy
pill.
Thursday 8/4 * New Moon in Leo * The New Moon is in the evening, so all day
we'll be feeling more endings than beginnings. Clean up, clear out, say goodbye
to whatever needs to be sent on its way. We have plans for great accomplishment,
but first we need to organize our computer files.
Friday 8/5 * Moon in Leo, Sun conjunct Mercury. Today we'll feel the new birth.
We sizzle with new opportunities and ideas. Obstacles are past, we have
enthusiasm for our plans. Communications have special power today, but Mercury
is retrograde so we have to play by backwards rules - the communications are
about the past or with people from a previous time, and don't expect results
beyond 8/15.
Saturday 8/6 * Moon in Virgo. Strong physical energy all day - exercise or do
whatever needs your muscles to get done. Around 6-7 we'll want to talk about our
favorite subject, and work types may even be tempted towards business.
Sunday 8/7 * Moon in Virgo. With Moon, planet of feelings and needs, and Venus,
planet of desires and pleasures, both in improvement Virgo, today we'll be
happiest doing something to better ourselves.
Have a stellar week!
Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl
If you don't want to know that our hearts need a little help, just reply with a
"No thanks" and you'll be off the list.
Wandering Stars - the planets
Mercury * in Leo. Our minds are bold and confident, and we want some of the
spotlight with our speech. We think of elegance and luxury. The best of Leo:
it's a grand life! The trap - it's all about me. Mercury in Leo through
September 4. Mercury retrogrades July 22 and turns direct on August 15.
Venus * in Virgo. We like organizing, accomplishing, improving. We want a clean
body and tidy house. We like to work, so our love life suffers. Don't compound
the problem with criticism. The biggest trap - being hard on ourselves with
this. I'm not pretty/handsome/big/small/wide/narrow enough! Venus in Virgo
through August 16.
Mars * in Taurus. Strong drive for safety and pleasure. We're content to do
without risks - we'd rather pad our bank accounts and spend extra time for sheer
physical pleasure. Mars retrogrades here 10/1 - 12/9, so in Taurus until
February 06.
Jupiter * in Libra. Blessings in love and partnerships! Learning in realms of
art and beauty. Jupiter now direct, so abundance and blessings are coming our
way! Jupiter in Libra through October 2005.
Saturn * in Cancer. Structure and responsibility in the domain of our innermost
feeling life and among our families and tribes. A positive vision of this
energy: the sensitive yet authoritative parent. Saturn direct in Cancer through
July 2005.
Dragon's Head * in Aries. We gain by new adventures and physical vigor, yet are
more prone to hostility.
Dragon's Tail * In Libra. We fear loss in relationships. Art explores the
unseen.* * * MAY ALL BE AUSPICIOUS * * *
