Dear friends,
In the latest chapter of the ever unfolding sky saga, King Sun travels through
the last week of Libra. This Libra time has lit up our partnerships, especially
after 10/6 when the Sun emerged from the dark cave of the Dragon's Tail. Just
yesterday King Sun met up with bounty star Spica, the star that rewards our
honest hard work with yet more opportunities to plant and harvest. Later this
week King Sun has his annual Conference of the Good with Prince Jupiter, and
optimism and positive actions prevail. Just after that ends, King Sun changes
garb and enters Scorpio very early Sunday morning.
Queen Moon travels through the first four signs of Aries, Taurus, Gemini and
Cancer this week, but she is not quite her placid self, especially today. Just
eclipsed by the Dragon's Head in the wee hours this morning, the Queen is acting
like she's pumped up on steroids. Our lunar powers are amplified, not just our
physical muscles, but with the Moon in action Aries muscles are definitely
included. Wherever the sign of Aries falls in our chart gets extra Moon energy
for the next two months.
Meanwhile Messenger Mercury is in Scorpio is dressed in cloak and carrying
dagger. He's been deciphering a past conundrum yet about to have it out with his
boss Mars. Mercury in Scorpio is a penetrating, investigative mind; and with
ruler Mars traveling backwards this is like a half-strength Mercury retrograde.
It puts our minds on the past. Yet Mercury is getting more vexed with each
passing day, and at the same time as Sun meets up with Jupiter, Mercury screams
"My way or the highway!" this coming weekend.
Lady Venus has been having a ball in party Sagittarius. While Warrior Mars has
been pouting ever since Venus left him in the dust after their steamy
Scorpio-Taurus love affair of 10/1, she has been frolicking and delighting in
new found freedom. The mood darkens towards the end of the month where she meets
up with Lord of the Underworld Pluto on Friday 10/28 - this energy is best lived
by attending a racy Halloween party!
Hero Mars is taking a time out, retrograde since 10/1. Our fighting energy is
directed inwards - this can mean frustration and inner drive. We are uncertain
with outer action yet keenly feel physical charge and pursuit of pleasure and
safety. Mars comes closest to earth in his two year orbit on 10/31, so this
energy is literally close to home. Halloween fans, we'll have lots of juice for
dancing the weekend away and late night escapades, but I must say that places
that are drunk and crowded may see more violence than usual, so stay safe.
Prince Jupiter is behind the scenes this week, overshadowed by the Sun, but the
Sun has been benefiting greatly from his auspicious advice. Jupiter is at the
very last portion of his stay in the sign of Libra, and privately he is
reviewing all the good he was able to do in this sign as well as Pisces (sign by
antiscia) as well as Gemini and Aquarius. Not as much as planned, he thinks -
the Dragon's Tail sapped my strength. It's true - Jupiter in Libra is supposed
to mean great benefits in partnerships, but with the Dragon's Tail also here the
blessings were diminished, especially February 05 through mid August. Jupiter
soon enters Scorpio on 10/25 and our plot changes considerably. Scorpio
benefits, Aquarius too (by antiscia); and trines to Cancer and Pisces are very
positive, especially so since Jupiter especially loves these fertile water
signs.
Meanwhile Saturn is hanging around 10-11 Leo for the next several weeks as he
turns stations backwards on 11/22. These degrees in our charts, as well as 10-11
Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio, are under strain. Leo takes the worst hit, since
Saturn is receiving a shadow aspect from Mars. The next two weeks, and even the
coming two months (sorry!), have a historic amount of tension. When Saturn and
Mars get together bad things happen - this time around it is bird flu.

Sun * in Libra, entering Scorpio on Sunday. Libra is the season of
relationships. We experience life through our connections with others. We
delight in possibilities, but also have indecision as the Libra scale swings
back and forth, measuring the options. The joys of partnership Libra are rich
experiences in relating. The difficulty of Libra is the very same focus on
relationships means we easily lose our own point of view.
Moon * days 15 - 22 (new Moon is day 1). Full Moon Eclipse in Libra Monday
morning, now sharing the relationship energy in the 3rd quarter the rest of the
week.
Monday 10/17 * Moon in Aries, entering Taurus at 3:05 pm. Energy today is a
relief after the charged Aries Full Moon. We put the last two weeks in emotional
perspective this afternoon, and delight in new pleasures tonight with Moon in
sensual Taurus.
Tuesday 10/18 * Moon in Taurus, Mercury square Neptune. What's all this cosmic
sky drama in your column? Can't you just tell it straight? What does it mean for
me??? This is the voice of Mercury in Scorpio squaring Neptune. OK I promise -
if you come for a reading I'll tell it to you straight. Because everyone's chart
is different, I have to write on the big themes in this forum. If you pay
attention you'll see how you sing along with the cosmic music. Seriously,
Mercury square Neptune is put off by vague communication and all the Neptune
themes above - but with Neptune soon stationing she is stronger, and so she
wins. Translation: our mind has to stretch to take in the myth, but with a
little effort we can do so. Today we are caught between hard reality and the
wish for a more ideal world. How do we tip the scale to what we'd rather see
with our thinking and communicating? For restless sleepers, exercise in the eve
and calming herbs tonight will help.
Wednesday 10/19 * Moon in Taurus, into Gemini at 7:45 pm. As Sun moves closer to
Jupiter, exact early Saturday, we'll really sense the positive vibes. Since the
Sun is the most powerful force, this will trump the very real difficulties going
on with the other planets, especially Saturn and Mars. Taurus is long considered
the exaltation sign of the Moon, but these days Taurus is having a rough time.
This means we might actually feel better with Moon in Gemini. One thing is for
sure - whatever is going on we'll want to talk about it!
Thursday 10/20 * Moon in Gemini. We are productive in our relationships,
especially mid day into the weekend; Gemini Moon facilitates communication.
Mercury-Mars showdown coming up, same time as Sun-Jupiter. Though our petty
thoughts might stray towards the harsh remark, take the high road and see the
more inclusive and important good. Truly sweet dreams tonight! For dream fans,
this is worth an extra hour of sleep.
Friday 10/21 * Moon in Gemini. Yes we have Mercury opposing Mars on Saturday,
and there is a quite nasty Saturn-Mars thing going on that is causing real
trouble in the world. But if you cannot feel the positive Sun-Jupiter vibes
today you are not alive! The aspect is exact 5:55 am Saturday morn, so all today
will feel like a graduation party.
Saturday 10/22 * Moon in Gemini, into Cancer at 3:40 am, Sun conjunct Jupiter,
Mercury opposite Mars. Sun Jupiter is early, so as we awake we'll know the
fireworks of the good have now given way to the rabble rousers. Watch hostility
of the mind. The best of this energy is power in investigation and research.
Sunday 10/23 * Moon in Cancer, Sun into Scorpio. The Air emphasis of dialog
Libra and communication Gemini shifts to deep waters of intense Scorpio and
feeling Cancer. Our universal light takes on a new color. We've had our
relationship experience, now we completely merge.

Wandering Stars - the planets
Mercury * in Scorpio. Our minds can focus, investigate, go deep into truth. We
can research, probe and penetrate our way unflinchingly towards real motivations
and causes. With Mars retrograde in Taurus, we have power in analyzing the past,
especially in areas of pleasure and resources. Mercury in Scorpio through
October 30.
Venus * in Sagittarius. Venus in Sagittarius is a love of exploring and finding
new ways of pleasure and enjoyment - new people too. The love of the party wants
to lighten up, go shopping and have a good time. Foreign things -movies, music,
art, food, cultures (and yes people again) all attract. Venus in Sagittarius
through November 5.
Mars * in Taurus. Now retrograde, so we are feeling Mars more internally. This
can mean that we're extra self driven at best and more frustrated or angry at
our selves at worst. Whatever Mars connects to in our personal charts gets put
on hold until direct motion on December 9. Mars in Taurus until February 06.
Jupiter * in Libra. Blessings in love and partnerships! Learning in realms of
art and beauty. Jupiter now direct and past the Dragon's Tail, so abundance and
blessings are coming our way! Jupiter in Libra through October 2005.
Saturn * in Leo. Essential challenge to self expression. Color feels a bit much;
we prefer black. The people revolt against the leaders. Anti-authoritarianism in
many guises. A positive vision of this energy: we know the work we need to do
and do it. Saturn in Leo September 2007.
Dragon's Head * in Aries. We gain by new adventures and physical vigor, yet are
more prone to hostility.
Dragon's Tail * in Libra. We fear loss in relationships. Art explores the
