Dear friends,
First some astro gossip, then two special
announcements!
How literal is astrology? Very! Just a few weeks ago a close friend of GW Bush
described him as "a lion in winter." Bush has Leo rising with Mercury, Pluto and
Venus all in Leo. Leo, obviously, is the sign of the lion. In mid September
Saturn entered his 1st house and now sits on his Mercury and Pluto. Saturn rules
Capricorn and Aquarius, the first two signs of winter, and is known for its cold
and heavy influence. There you have it - a Leo horoscope facing Saturn is
literally a lion in winter!
There are serious riots in France. For two thousand years France has been known
as a Leo country. Saturn and its cold and heavy qualities has the power to lay
down the law so it represents authority. Mars is young men, fighting spirit, and
violence. Mars in Taurus is now backing into an extended square with Saturn in
Leo. [Note: previous times this has happened in the 20th century saw serious
destruction.] The literal meaning of square is challenge. Put these together and
you have: Young men lighting fires and spreading violence fight and challenge
the authorities in France.
More... Several weeks ago when Mars went into Taurus I predicted (only part in
jest) an increase in volume of love sighs! The reason: Mars is physical energy,
Taurus is the throat and sign of pleasure... so expected more vocal ohhs and
ahhs. Well now that Mars has turned retrograde and squaring Saturn - this means
both malefic energies of fight and fear and getting together for quite a while -
the news is reporting on the Choking Game. Actually stories broke in August just
as Mars entered Taurus, but we're seeing more with the Mars square Saturn this
month. I couldn't make this up.

Enough with gloom and doom - now for the good
news!
First I am very pleased to announce a regular column addition to my website!
Every other Wednesday I will post an example of a horary question. Literally
this means "Question of the Hour." I take an actual question from a friend or
client who has agreed to this and post my analysis online. Horary astrology is
the branch of astrology geared to answering specific questions. What is the
future of this relationship? Should I take this job? Where are my lost bank
papers? Any specific question can be viewed from the perspective of the stars.
While this admittedly sounds a bit tarot (no insult to tarot here) from today's
modern perspective, horary astrology was the bread and butter of many of the old
time astrologers who practiced in a time before birth charts. The most famous
work in astrology written in English, William Lilly's Christian Astrology of
1647, is mostly geared to horary astrology. All I can say is that after many
years of study and practice is that it works. Horary astrology is the art of
scientific divination. It has precise rules for judgment based on two thousand
years of experience of those who have turned to the skies for insight and
prediction. See for yourself - read the examples or ask your own question!
View the Question of the Hour page here.
And now for the very special announcement! I am in a Jupiter period and
currently having a special Jupiter transit, one that comes around once every 4
years or so. Jupiter is cosmic Santa Claus, who gives gifts wherever he travels
around our chart. So I have decided to play Astro Santa! I am giving away a free
5 minute reading to anyone and everyone on the Star Pearls list!!! You read
correctly. Just
email
back if you'd like your *free* 5 minute reading and we'll set up a time. I will
even call you. You can ask anything you'd like to know about your birth chart.
We can focus on the whole of life or what is happening this year or even this
month. I will be playing Astro Santa from today until November 21st. And if you have friends who might be interested who
aren't yet receiving Star Pearls, just have them
sign up here and then they can get their
free reading too!
Why am I doing this, besides being a way to really live this Jupiter transit I
am having right now? Too many people don't really know what real astrology is
all about. If anyone reads Sun sign horoscopes, you might think I'll be
buttering you up with an hour's worth of phrases such as "true power stems from
your ability to see through illusions" or "You may feel like you've been stalled
or stuck in a rut but not to worry, because that won't be the case for long."
My practice of astrology is much different. Of course I am supportive, but we
focus on the potentials of the time. "After the end of January, your serious
intellectual interest will be in part replaced by a focus on fun and enjoyments.
Art, music, alcohol and water in some way will figure prominently in your
entertainments. Money may be seriously limited in October and November, but it
should start coming in again in December. It is a good time to make an
improvement or expansion in your home." See for yourself - get your free reading
sample today. Astro Santa, like Jupiter, is around for a limited time!

Star*Watch
All times Pacific Standard Time. See below for comments on other visible
planets. The Sun and Moon together set the tone of the time. The Sun is our
fundamental orientation for the month; Moon signs and aspects are the energetic
pulls of the day, and tell us how we approach the truth of the Sun. Planet
aspects influence the energies for several days and sometimes weeks before and
after the aspect depending on the planets involved.
Sun * in Scorpio. We go more deeply into emotions here than any other sign.
Think of Scorpio season as therapy time - we can get more done working on our
emotions now than any other time of year. Besides, next month is Sagittarius and
we'll want to party. The Sun in Scorpio heats up our sexual energy. The traps of
this sign are obsessing over emotions and sleights, and power plays in
relationships.
Moon * days 7 - 13 (new Moon is day 1). First quarter Moon on Tuesday. Our
orientation of deep emotion and interpersonal interactions is challenged by our
mood going towards our wider circle of friends. We're focused on the state of
our insides, but our community says stop obsessing can come help us out over
here. Waxing Moon means more energy.
Monday 11/7 * Moon in Aquarius 1:30 pm, Mars square Neptune, Venus sextile
Jupiter. Normally Venus making an aspect to Jupiter is cause for celebration. It
still is, but the difficult receptions involved take the gleam off the ringing
bells. Lots of communication and concepts this afternoon. Most people know the
seasons - the Sun's entry into Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are spring,
summer, fall and winter. The midway points are 15 degrees of fixed signs:
Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. The Sun crossed 15 degrees of Scorpio
yesterday, and Venus entered Capricorn over the weekend. We sense shades of
winter.
Tuesday 11/8 * Moon in Aquarius. Moon opposite Saturn 8:25 am can mean a face
off with the authorities in our life, both external and internal; Moon ticks off
square to Mars and joins Neptune in the afternoon - great for surfing if you
brave the weather! We sense fight and disillusion - the warrior no longer
motivated for battle. Moon square Sun about 6:00 is yet another emotional
challenge to the day. My take: have a drink, catch a movie.
Wednesday 11/9 * Moon in Aquarius, into Pisces at 4:20. We're charged up midday,
and Mercury on royal star Antares heats up and elevates our mind and
communication. Otherwise intellect softens into happier emotion as the Pisces
Moon lands and connects to both Jupiter and Venus as the evening goes on. If we
are going to experience the emotional transformation of this Scorpio time this
would be a good night for it. Enjoyments come easy, especially with women and
older arts, and dreams are sweet and happy if we can settle our emotional
restlessness.
Thursday 11/10 * Moon in Pisces. Aquarius is intellectual knowledge; Pisces is
emotional wisdom. We activate our minds with Moon in Aquarius; we connect to our
heart with Moon in Pisces. Waxing Moon trine Sun means harmony between men and
women, especially in the evening, and peak energy.
Friday 11/11 * Moon in Pisces, into Aries 7:20 pm. Let your imagination soar as
Pegasus - the flying horse who bypassed all obstacles. This is the Moon's
position today (and every month in the last part of Pisces) - one of the most
creative places in the zodiac. The only downside is overstretching. *Mercury Rx
alert!* We normally rush ahead with Moon in Aries, but beware cosmic
communicator Mercury goes retrograde on Sunday, and all manner of things are
already slowing down. Moon in Aries on a Friday night means hotter heat and
wilder action for the beginning of your weekend. Expect delightful surprises
with women and all pleasures.
Saturday 11/12 * Moon in Aries. Cravings will be the theme of today. Shopping
for new toys, gifts, new experiences... we will want to consume but only in ways
where we feel safe. This energy builds and peaks near 6:00 pm when the Moon is
exactly in the Head of the Dragon. Then intensity backs off a bit, but an Aries
Moon near full is still physical and action oriented.
Sunday 11/13 * Moon in Aries, into Taurus 11:00 pm, Mercury Rx. An Aries Sunday
means get out there and move. Go back to a favorite place in nature you used to
frequent.
Have a stellar week!
Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl

Wandering Stars - the planets
Mercury * in Sagittarius. The messenger is playing the part of the big guy and
is a bit out of his league. We ignore facts and data and jump to the big
conclusions. Still our minds are overall happy and have good intentions so we
get away with this some of the time. Our minds, communication and learning
expand and go into new territory. We have more... and more... to say.
***Mercury retrograde alert!*** Mercury retrogrades 11/13 and turns direct on
December 12/3.
Venus * in Capricorn. We want to be safe in our desires. We take the long term
approach to pleasure and relationships. If the partner isn't marriage potential,
move on. Older things attract, yet we are willing to save and sacrifice for
greater goals. Venus in Capricorn through December 15.
Mars * in Taurus. Now retrograde, so we are feeling Mars more internally. This
can mean that we're extra self driven at best and more frustrated or angry at
our selves at worst. Whatever Mars connects to in our personal charts gets put
on hold until direct motion on December 9. Mars in Taurus until February 06.
Jupiter * in Scorpio. Jupiter entering Scorpio blesses therapies, healing
modalities, joint finance arrangements and amplifies our sexuality. Jupiter
wants to do good, but in Scorpio functions by responding to others with some
kind of attack. The energy: This might hurt, but it is for your own good and my
own protection! Great regeneration and power is possible if we find the positive
side of our deepest emotions. Jupiter here also benefits Aquarius (by antiscia)
and sister water signs of Cancer and Pisces. Jupiter in Scorpio through November
2006.
Saturn * in Leo. Essential challenge to self expression. Color feels a bit much;
we prefer black. The people revolt against the leaders. Anti-authoritarianism in
many guises. A positive vision of this energy: we know the work we need to do
and do it. Saturn in Leo September 2007.
Dragon's Head * in Aries. We gain by new adventures and physical vigor, yet are
more prone to hostility.
Dragon's Tail * in Libra. We fear loss in relationships. Art explores the
unseen.
