Dear friends,

Day and night, rest and activity, energy expanding out and absorbing in, yin and yang, male and female, other and self, together and alone; may you find balance in these Libra times.

You and me, needs and desires, attraction and indifference, carb and protein, nutrition and taste, lackadaisy and art, harmony and rumple, clutter and feng shui, elevation and distraction; may you find the joy of healthy pleasures, may relationships give beauty to life and may Libran harmonies sing in perfect tune.

Fairness and dominance, oppression and equality, responsibility and freedom, play and meaning, effort and spontaneity, fun and work, adult and child, possibility and focus, material and spirit, not-too-tight and not-too-loose; may you strike the chime of peace, harmony and health: b a l a n c e .

One person's medicine is another's poison goes the saying. The traditional healing systems (Ayurveda, Chinese, European) start with this principle - health is balance. One person saves their life by juice fasting, another by eating steak 5 times a week; one person finds their peace in solitude, another thrives on interaction. In whatever way it is needed, go towards balancing out.

A curious week - the Sun, Mars and Mercury all in Libra puts our focus, drive and thoughts on relationships; yet Queen of the domain Venus is deep in Virgo, very down, and squaring Pluto (yikes); hitting the South node (loss of love & pain of lack); and her maximum fall degree (nobody loves me!) all within a few days. Ouch.

Though we are thinking of relationships, we remember the times we were burned. Though we want pleasures, we feel our heart's pains. Though we want love, we don't allow ourselves to have it - not good enough, not pretty enough, not this or that enough. Either regarding me or you, in the end the result in the same.

Venus moving on to South node on Tuesday is like a New Moon in love; yes there are new possibilities, but only when we go through the endings first. For readers who know something of the energies of Dark of the Moon (letting go, the loss), New Moon (seed of new cycle, potential) and Day After (action begins) - the South node has all of these bound up in its complex tale. One door shuts and another opens, but sometimes especially in the realm of attachments we just have to slam one door closed for good before another appears. It's a week for slamming, but make sure the door you choose to close is not the one that's about to swing open with welcoming bells.

Sun * in Libra puts our orientation on art, pleasure, choices and most of all interaction with others. With ruler Venus still in Virgo for another week we'll still be too critical in our relationships and insist on some improvement; but then with Sun, Venus and Mars all in Libra for a few weeks we can experience the best of interaction. The catch of Libra - too many enticing options swinging those scales back and forth. The Sun also has a special influence on Sundays, Wednesday nights and all Sun hours. Moon * First Quarter Moon in Capricorn early Saturday 9/30.

Monday 9/25 * Moon in Scorpio, Venus square Pluto. Scorpio Moon knows how to obsess and with Venus squaring off with Pluto we're easily stuck on past heart hurts or we are power playing in love. Our minds, though, think that with just the right strategy and effort things will improve.

Tuesday 9/26 * Moon in Scorpio, Venus conjunct South node. Venus on the Dragon's Tail doesn't even show up in astro calendars but beware the following today (and also the several days leading up to today) - loss in love, past loves and attachments and the hurts they caused, lover or mother wounds, you get the idea. Today is a let it all go day, clean out the closet of the heart.

Wednesday 9/27 * Moon in Sagittarius. Our minds having planned and worked now give whatever it takes and go all the way to achieve results. And with Mercury on bounty star Spica results we shall have - if we have tended our crops. But our love life, ohh, Venus on fall degree means even though all this Libra is literally desperate for partnership it isn't happening quite yet, not as we want anyway. Don't give up, big improvements coming soon!

Thursday 9/28 * Moon in Sagittarius. You may read that Sag is optimistic, expansive, happy go lucky and for much of the time it is true; and sorry for another difficult to read comment but it is just one of those weeks. Sagittarius is not the happiest go lucky when Jupiter is in Scorpio squaring Saturn. Finding the possibilities within the limitations, the acceptable work plan that will produce good results, these are more realistic goals with Moon in Sagittarius as it is these days.

Friday 9/29 * Moon in Sagittarius, into Capricorn 3:00 pm. With Saturn back as king of the hill, Capricorn Moon might feel better than Sag! Still we will have issues of long term responsibilities, especially around balancing 'me and you.'

Saturday 9/30 * Moon in Capricorn, Venus in Libra! This is a 'night and day' kind of event - 3 planets in Libra and ruler Venus goes from a sign where she is traditionally considered most uncomfortable into one of her favorites. The relationships we want and the interaction we seek all starts to happen. Why? Because we drop the criticism and accept the pleasure; we stop working so hard and enjoy other people.

Sunday 10/1 * Moon in Capricorn, into Aquarius 8:25 pm, Mercury in Scorpio. A Sunday to spend all day with your special someone; give the relationship an experience to remember.

Wandering Stars - the planets

Mercury * in Libra (entering Scorpio late Sunday October 1). The messenger in the sign of partnership naturally thinks of options and others. Back and forth go the mental swings, what to choose? Let's talk it out. Mercury is especially active on Wednesdays, Saturday nights and all hours of Mercury.

Venus * in Virgo, entering Libra on Saturday September 30. Ahh, we go from not good enough in love to having pleasure in relationships because we are more accepting of ourselves and more interested in other people to boot. The current focus on relationships can start to produce genuinely wonderful experiences. Venus in Libra from September 30 to October 24. Venus sweetens Fridays, Monday nights and all hours of Venus.

Mars * in Libra. Drive towards partnerships, art, pleasure, dialog and options. It is the last part that is the trickiest of Mars in Libra - when it comes time to act we want to just go, not debate about all the choices yet back and forth, forth and back, back and forth. Mars in Libra on September 7 through October 23. Mars has more bang on Tuesdays, Friday nights and all hours of Mars.

Jupiter * in Scorpio. Now direct, so we see more outer results of inner work done the past few months. Jupiter in Scorpio blesses therapies, healing modalities, joint finance arrangements and amplifies our sexuality. Jupiter wants to do good, but in Scorpio functions by responding to others with some kind of attack. The energy: This might hurt, but it is for your own good and my own protection! Great regeneration and power is possible if we find the positive side of our deepest emotions. Jupiter here also benefits Aquarius (by antiscion) and sister water signs of Cancer and Pisces. Jupiter in Scorpio through November 2006. Jupiter blesses Thursdays, Sunday nights and all Jupiter hours.

Saturn * in Leo. Developments in some long term structures in life are moving forward, but concrete Saturn moving into an opposition with destabilizing Neptune. This is a major aspect and will set the tone for everything else later this summer and on into 2007. Saturn in Leo through September 2007. Saturn stabilizes Saturdays, Tuesday nights and all Saturn hours.

Dragon's Head * in Pisces. We advance towards peace, arts and spirituality, and partnerships are also a must. Without the sweet embrace of love, substitutes can be not just an occasional indulgence but a routine.

Dragon's Tail * in Virgo. As placements go, this is a bit tough. The Dragon's Tail is like the tai-chi master doing quiet movements but little else. How does this function in the sign of accomplishment through detail & perfection? We let go of ways we are unnecessarily restrictive. Hard work is a virtue, but unless guided by a Pisces wholeness will never bring us true peace.
