Wandering Stars
Dear friends,
Last week I wrote about what makes you
happy. The essential take - acting our Sun, as shown in our chart by its sign &
house position, rulership and important aspects, is the way. But that was only
half of the story. Maybe even less than half. Because the Sun is only good when
we are out and about in the daytime. For the night, we look to the Moon.
We don't act so much our Moon as feed it. What do
we take in? What do we need to feel ourselves? How do we interact with others
when we share meals, hang out & sleep together?
If the Moon is Queen of the night - time of taking
in food, interacting with family and friends, enjoying our lover - it
isn't too much of a jump to say the Moon is enough more important for happiness
than the Sun. Sure we can have career success but without eating well, positive
friendships and passionate relationships, life can feel empty indeed. And we all
know a good night's sleep (Moon) is the most important foundation for the next
day (Sun).
Indian astrology agrees - the planet of happiness
is the Moon, period. Here's another way - Sun is the I am, Moon is the I feel.
Happiness is a feeling, yes?
How might the chart show how to feed our Moon? We
apply a similar method - we look to the Moon itself by sign and house, its
ruler, then important aspects. A few examples: a Moon in Libra with ruler Venus
in Capricorn in the 11th will thrive in a few carefully forged long term
relationships. A Moon in Gemini with ruler Mercury conjunct Venus in Aquarius in
the 10th will need to express or communicate beauty in her career. A Moon in
Scorpio conjunct Mars will benefit from stimulating competition.
We also consider the phase - will the person feel
fresh beginnings with New Moon, be very active as it moves towards Full, enjoy
sharing with others in the 3rd quarter, or more internal as it comes around to
New again?
Here's the catch. In our nighttime, there's an
awful lot of artificial daylight around. How are we to listen to the subtle
promptings of our inner nature if we are always being fooled into extra Sun
activity with electric light? I'm no Luddite, but this week I invite you to join
me in an experiment: after dark, turn out the lights. A few candles are OK. I
submit that there is no faster way to clarify our feelings, deepen intuition and
discover what makes us happy than experiencing the dark. Only then can we truly
see and feel the Moon.
Today and tomorrow with Moon in Cancer is a
particularly good time for this, and some of you may continue into later in the
week with Full Moon late Thursday night. Please share what you discover!

Sun * in Aquarius. After Capricorn ambitions and effort, we now seek the answers
in Aquarius. Aquarius is an intellectual sign and thrives on community
connections; but like Capricorn it too is willing to work. This week we
experience breakthroughs in relationships; then starting Saturday we develop new
plans for prosperity.
Moon * A grand Full Moon in Leo on Thursday night. Aquarius Sun puts our
orientation on community, but a Full Moon in Leo means we are happy only when
our hearts sing.
Monday 1/29 * Moon in
Gemini, into Cancer 2:15 pm. After talking and exercising our minds in the
morning, we want to just be in Cancer. Dinner, a bath, a night in with our lover
- we restore ourselves with pleasure.
Tuesday 1/30 * Moon in Cancer. We work hard during the day, but
the Crab needs personal time to function best. Take a bit more time at lunch or
walk in nature on your way home. And perhaps the very best way to have insights
into true nourishment is to experience the dark.
Wednesday 1/31 * Moon in Cancer, into Leo 9:30 pm, Mercury
sextile Pluto. Our minds are *extra* today and that can be just fine if we have
projects we like to accomplish. More research than originally planned, another
10 pages on the report, taking the next brilliant step in our methods.
Thursday 2/1 * Full Moon in Leo 9:45 pm. After taking time in
Cancer to go within, we encourage, share, give, enjoy - all with with gusto -
with Leo Full Moon. See who I am?! Wonderful!! Enjoy the happy Moonlight
tonight.
Friday 2/2 * Moon in Leo, Mercury into Pisces. We may feel the
weight of responsibilities or the difficulty of circumstances late in the
afternoon on Friday, but after this passes tonight is one of the best weekend
nights of the year for enjoying life!
Saturday 2/3 * Moon into Virgo 6:35 am, Mars sextile Uranus, Sun
sextile Jupiter. Two positive sextiles in play early juice up Friday night - by
the time we are up we are being productive with our intuition. We clean up our
house with music and decide what to eat on the menu by sensing the chef's best
dish.
Sunday 2/4 * Moon in Virgo. Virgo likes practical accomplishment,
but with Mercury now in Pisces this will have a visionary dimension. No routine
librarian here; this Virgo Moon wants to write the book or better yet invent an
entirely new form of communication!
Have a stellar week!
Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl

Wandering Stars - the planets
Mercury * in Aquarius, entering Pisces on February 2. After the discipline and hard work
of Capricorn, our minds take the alternative approach and get more done in less
time. Mercury in Aquarius means interaction with friends and community. Problems
are easily solved. Mercury in Aquarius through through February 2.
Venus * in Pisces. Venus in Pisces is the very best of love
- we accept it all, we forgive, we let go, we love even more than we thought we
could and there a beautiful life loving us right back. Venus in Pisces through
February 21.
Mars * in Capricorn. Mars in the sign of the mountain climber
means men work even harder than usual, and everyone has a strong drive to accomplish.
Mars in Capricorn through February 25 2007.
Jupiter * in Sagittarius. Jupiter is opportunities and expansion
and in his home sign of Sag, improvements and
abundance come easy. Jupiter in Sagittarius through December 2007.
Saturn * Retrograde in Leo. Concrete Saturn is moving into the 2nd pass of an opposition with
destabilizing Neptune. All long term structures are not as solid as they seem. Saturn in Leo through September 2007.
Dragon's Head * in Pisces. We advance towards peace, arts and spirituality, and
partnerships are also a must. Without the sweet embrace of love, substitutes can
be not just an occasional indulgence but a routine.
Dragon's Tail * in Virgo. As placements go, this is a bit tough. The Dragon's
Tail is like the tai-chi master doing quiet movements but little else. How does
this function in the sign of accomplishment through detail & perfection? We let
go of ways we are unnecessarily restrictive. Hard work is a virtue, but unless
guided by a Pisces wholeness will never bring us true peace.
