Wandering Stars
Dear friends,
At the end of the Capricorn chapter the goddess Circe gives Odysseus his great
assignment: travel to the land of the dead and visit the prophet Tiresias,
who'll be able to tell our long wandering hero how to make it home at last.
Somehow Odysseus and crew get to the land of the
dead fairly easily. They simply sail beyond the limits of the Sun, perform a
ritual per Circe's instructions and then the ghosts start to appear.
The very first one they meet is the man who drank
too much in the previous chapter and fell off a roof. He pleads for a burial, which
Odysseus agrees to provide on the way back. Homer is reminding us: just in case
you forgot, don't drink so much so that you fall off a roof! But the listeners
of the day would be aware of more than this. Homer is emphasizing the social
responsibility of caring for the deceased. Aquarius is known for humanitarian
concerns, just like taking care of the environment today.
Then more ghosts approach Odysseus, even including
his mother, but he insists on talking to the prophet first. Quite an interesting
point! Aquarius has such a drive for wisdom that when Odysseus has the choice
between visiting with his own mother on the other side or getting his answer, there is no
doubt whatsoever - he gets his answer.
The prophet tells Odysseus that Poseidon will
still cause trouble, but he can still reach home if he makes sure that the
cattle on a certain island are kept safe. If he or his men harm them in any way,
everything will be lost. The prophet continues: if Odysseus alone escapes, he'll
have to deal with a band of suitors who are courting his wife and devouring his
cattle. Once he disposes of them, travel to a far off land where food isn't
seasoned with salt and make a sacrifice. Then he'll be able to enjoy a peaceful
death in ripe old age.
Let's put this in context for a bit. Odysseus
fought at the war of Troy for 10 years and is trying to get home, but has been
thrown off course. He wonders if he'll ever see his wife and son again. Now he
knows how to make it: Don't harm the cattle, deal with the suitors, travel and
conduct a peace ritual.
More than any other sign, Aquarius has a deep
drive for wisdom. It is no accident that we meet the prophet in this chapter.
Circe could only point the way to the prophet, and even the god Hermes himself
only provided a temporary benefit. In Aquarius, the road might be long and the task
at times seemingly impossible, but if it is wisdom we seek then that is what we
can find. More of Homer's take on Aquarius next week!

Can ancient wisdom help women get pregnant? Here's some of a
recent testimonial: "After 2 years of trying, something finally went our way,
and we're expecting in July. Jonathan's reading proved undeniably to be 100%
accurate. Moving forward, without a doubt, I plan to seek Jonathan's assistance
with any major life changing events." Read the full story

Sun * in Aquarius. After Capricorn ambitions and effort, we now seek the answers
in Aquarius. Aquarius is an intellectual sign and thrives on community
connections; but like Capricorn it too is willing to work. This week we
are creating prosperity through our knowledge and community connections; then
starting Friday we are putting in the hard work and action to make it happen.
Moon * Last Quarter Moon in Scorpio on Saturday. In Aquarius our aim is
community, but pesky Scorpio obsessions mean some connections aren't so simple.
Monday 2/5 * Moon in
Virgo, into Libra 6:15 pm. Libra Moon balances relationships, and yet with Venus
near rebel Uranus there may be the temptation to find another set of scales.
Jumpstart your love with a bold new move.
Tuesday 2/6 * Moon in Libra. Excitement in relationships - if its
new then you have the buzz; if established then still time to shake up the
routine. Ladies, remember that Mars is in Capricorn and men are working
overtime.
Wednesday 2/7 * Moon in Libra, Venus conjunct Uranus. Some of you
may have the opportunity to hop on an airplane and head to Hawaii or the
Caribbean. But if you can't, can sparkle up your love life with a spontaneous
artistic or ocean rendezvous. Just don't OD on pre-Valentine's chocolate.
Thursday 2/8 * Moon in Scorpio, Sun conjunct Neptune early.
Romance giggles may quiet somewhat, and we can get some work done during the day
if not too mentally fogged out. Venus-Jupiter early Friday is totally over the
top - shopping spree anyone? As long as you can return items on Saturday you'll
be fine.
Friday 2/9 * Moon in Scorpio, Venus square Jupiter early. In
whatever way we have enjoyed - really enjoyed - ourselves in the past few days,
we start to come back to reality. Nothing like a looming Saturn aspect to bring
home the consequences.
Saturday 2/10 * Moon in Scorpio, into Sagittarius 7:00 pm, Sun
opposite Saturn. Major Sun aspects to Saturn are the like report cards for
adults. How have you traveled on your path since mid November? Sun is the planet
of action and Saturn that of karma. Review both today and set your goals for the
next swing check-up in May. Then after 7:00 pm, drop the seriousness and let the
festivities begin!
Sunday 2/11 * Moon in Sagittarius. Enjoy a happy day by exploring
new territory. A few ideas: a book, a mountain, a game, a menu.
Have a stellar week!
Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl

Wandering Stars - the planets
Mercury * in Pisces. Mercury in Pisces, especially with the
current configuration of Venus, Uranus and the North node, is brilliantly
creative and easily reaching genius, but the details ... details will be taken
care of next month.
Or maybe not:
*** Mercury Rx alert February 12, turning direct on March 7. ***
Venus * in Pisces. Venus in Pisces is the very best of love
- we accept it all, we forgive, we let go, we love even more than we thought we
could and there a beautiful life loving us right back. Venus in Pisces through
February 21.
Mars * in Capricorn. Mars in the sign of the mountain climber
means men work even harder than usual, and everyone has a strong drive to accomplish.
Mars in Capricorn through February 25 2007.
Jupiter * in Sagittarius. Jupiter is opportunities and expansion
and in his home sign of Sag, improvements and
abundance come easy. Jupiter in Sagittarius through December 2007.
Saturn * Retrograde in Leo. Concrete Saturn is moving into the 2nd pass of an opposition with
destabilizing Neptune. All long term structures are not as solid as they seem. Saturn in Leo through September 2007.
Dragon's Head * in Pisces. We advance towards peace, arts and spirituality, and
partnerships are also a must. Without the sweet embrace of love, substitutes can
be not just an occasional indulgence but a routine.
Dragon's Tail * in Virgo. As placements go, this is a bit tough. The Dragon's
Tail is like the tai-chi master doing quiet movements but little else. How does
this function in the sign of accomplishment through detail & perfection? We let
go of ways we are unnecessarily restrictive. Hard work is a virtue, but unless
guided by a Pisces wholeness will never bring us true peace.
