It's tax time and that means most everyone except the Virgo types are scrambling to get everything in. More than most weeks of the year we see how much came in and how much must have gone out.

Which brings us to money. Implied in the career question, and often right after the relationship one, money is an item frequently asked of astrologers.

Try this 5 minute financial astrology planning exercise. Check your annual income in years when Jupiter was in your 2nd house of money, and compare this to years when Saturn was there too. In general, the vast majority of people will see increases with Jupiter and cutbacks or expenses (sometimes severe) with Saturn. For everyone Jupiter stays in one sign about a year and Saturn more than 2, and things vary a bit due to retrograde motions. To be accurate you'll need to know where your 2nd house starts and ends, but here is a very basic version by whole sign. The patterns of gain and loss will be likely valid for at least a portion of the times listed below. Note all times refer to rising sign, not Sun sign! If you don't know yours already look up at www.astro.com.

Aries rising - Jupiter in 2nd money sign of Taurus from June 1999 to October 1999, then again from February 2000 to July 2000. Saturn in Taurus from June 1998 to October 1998, again from March 1999 to August 2000, then lastly from October 2000 to April 2001. Note Jupiter was in Taurus the same time as Saturn which limits opportunities but makes some of the Saturn time not as bad (only while Jupiter was there too).

Taurus rising - Jupiter in 2nd sign of Gemini from July 2000 to July 2001. Saturn in Gemini from August 2000 to October 2000, April 2001 to June 2003.

Gemini rising - Jupiter in 2nd sign of Cancer from July 2001 to July 2002. Saturn in Cancer from June 2003 to July 2005. Jupiter just before Saturn, a setup for a peak and then a fall.

Cancer rising - Jupiter in 2nd sign of Leo from August 2002 to August 2003. Saturn in 2nd sign of Leo from July 2005 and still there! Relief from Saturn this September with Saturn in Virgo.

Leo rising - Jupiter in 2nd sign of Virgo from end of August 2003 to end of September 2004. Saturn last in Virgo July 1978 to September 1980. You read right, Saturn takes 29 years to go around. If you are Leo rising, save what you can these next few months!

Virgo rising - Jupiter in 2nd sign of Libra from end of September 2004 to end of October 2005. In this case Jupiter somewhat limited by the draining South node also in Libra for much of this time. Saturn last in Libra from September 1980 to December 1982, then again from May 1983 to August 1983. Of all signs, Saturn in Libra might give better results coming through effort with partners.

Libra rising - Jupiter in 2nd sign of Scorpio from end of October 2005 to November 2006. Saturn in Scorpio from December 1982 to April 1983, then again from August 1983 to November 1985. Whew that Saturn in Scorpio was tough!

Scorpio rising - Jupiter currently in 2nd sign of Sagittarius from November 2005 and there until December 2007. Saturn in Sagittarius from November 1985 to February 1988, and again June 1988 to November 1988. Bank it with Jupiter in your 2nd house, next time is 2019!

Sagittarius rising - Jupiter last in 2nd sign of Capricorn in January 1996 to January 1997. Saturn last in Capricorn February 1988 to June 1988, and again from November 1988 to February 1991. Ohhh the slowww Saturn in Capricorn and troubling poverty and lack! But look up, Jupiter is coming your way in 2008.

Capricorn rising - Jupiter last in 2nd sign of Aquarius in January 1997 to February 1998. Saturn last in Aquarius February 1991 to May 1993, then again July 1993 to February 1994. Ohhh the agony of Saturn in Aquarius and grinding effort!

Aquarius rising - Jupiter last in 2nd sign of Pisces February 1998 to February 1999. Saturn in Pisces for a spell in May and June 1993, then again February 1994 to April 1996.

Pisces rising - Jupiter last in 2nd sign of Aries from February 1999 to June 1999, then again from October 1999 to February 2000. Saturn last in Aries from April 1996 to June 1998, and again November 1998 to February 1999.

See if there is a difference between Jupiter direct and Rx (direct should be better); see if Saturn Rx is worse.

Do the same exercise for the 11th house of gain, and the house where your Part of Fortune is located. Also check exact hits to the POF.

Does Jupiter in the 8th improve the partners money, and does Saturn in the 8th harm it?

Check transits to the ruler of the 2nd too.
