Wandering Stars

Dear friends,

With Sun in Gemini since 5/21, perhaps you have merrily skipped from cell phone to magazine to email and back again. And since speedy Gemini  loves the variety, sometimes you've read your emails while talking to your best friend (I won't tell), or played a computer game and watched a movie at the very same time. And the super-Mercuried (this has nothing to do with fish) among us pull off the occasional triple - that would be talking on the cell phone while checking email and reading a book, all the while maintaining cognition and coherence.

However, even the quick minded may have noticed a shift as of last Monday eve on Memorial Day. Instead of another chat on the cell phone, you are looking up a recipe for dinner. Rather than read another book, it feels like time for a bath. A few choice words said with feeling count for a hundred witty nothings. What has happened?

Mercury, ruling prince of Gemini, moved into Cancer, sign of deep feeling. What is Cancer about? I always return to my favorite source, the Odyssey, yet no need to repeat here. New readers can check out the Cancer chapter to see if themes resonate. If so, they will only increase in coming weeks with Mercury stationing in Cancer (2 months + in the crab!) and then Sun following into the depths on the solstice.

The special talents of Mercury in Cancer: perfectly planned menus, caring for others with your words, having wonderful ideas percolate up from your belly, and a rich creativity born of intuitive insight.

The drawback - your mind can be a big puddle when emotional storms drench the brain circuitry responsible for logic.

Here are some assorted (Gemini) tidbits to nurture the feeling mind (Mercury in Cancer).

If it's intelligent astro depth you seek, those well chosen words with feeling, I most enthusiastically recommend the Moonkissd site of my friend Jessica. Celebrities, travel, books and readings, she has it all!

And yet if you have had moments where your mind has become the puddle; or perhaps you are the type of person who might enjoy a sumptuous blend of relaxation, spa treatment, therapy and meditation all combined into 1 hour - I also give big thumbs up to Float Matrix here in SF. The care and integrity of owner and proprietor Kane shows with each well placed slipper, and especially comes through his warm and direct gaze you will get no matter how your nerves have frazzled or shoulders have tensed. He knows - just float, and you'll come out with all edges smoothed, skin pure and mind supple. If you go please do me a favor and tell him Jonathan the astrologer sent you!

Your scribe the astrologer, is, dare i say, smoking Wall Street with recent market forecasts. The market is a wild beast, though, and I've already learned that it will allow a streak but will find a way to keep me humble. Check out results here - swing trading results are easiest to see. Ps, due to successful stock market calls and clients interested in financial work availability for other personal readings is now extremely limited.

Star*Watch - More info here.

Sun * in Gemini. After the Taurus focus on the material, with Sun in Gemini we live the life of the mind. Thinking, writing and communicating come easy, and we are more flexible, curious and open to change. Yet with Sun's ruler Mercury in Cancer, we think with our feelings.

Moon * 4th Quarter Moon in Pisces on Friday 6/8.

Monday 6/4 * Moon in Capricorn, into Aquarius 4:15 pm, Mars trine Jupiter. With Moon in Capricorn we want a mountain goal to climb, and with Mars trine Jupiter we have the gusto to do it! Expand your goals today.

Tuesday 6/5 * Moon in Aquarius, Venus into Leo, Sun opposite Jupiter. Sun opposite Jupiter is the proverbial Christmas in June, and with Venus into Leo some new sparkly flashy colorful things will look ohh so attractive.

Wednesday 6/6 * Moon in Aquarius, into Pisces 10:25 pm. Aquarius is the sign of wisdom, and what knowledge system has passed from culture to culture and century to century? Astrology! For one of its most talented contemporary voices, be sure to check out Moonkissd.

Thursday 6/7 * Moon in Pisces. Mercury is the planet of the thinking mind; Moon of feeling. Both cooperating in water signs today means intuition, care, creativity, and of course, water. Experience the very essence of the stuff at Float Matrix in SF. If you are reading elsewhere, check out local floating facilities.

Friday 6/8 * Last Quarter Moon in Pisces. There's another thing that Cancer (Mercury, soon stationing and so prominent) and Pisces (Moon today) share - imbibing! Did you know the word whisky comes from Gaelic 'water of life'? Manage the square between information Gemini and experience Pisces by reading up on your favorite liquid delights in The Joy of Drinking here. Read the editorial reviews before you judge.

Saturday 6/9 * Moon in Aries, Sun square Uranus. Oh no! A square! I jest for those who know enough astrology to be dangerous. Not bad really - just intuitive radical insights (Uranus in Pisces) may challenge our intellectual perspective (Sun in Gemini). Since Sun's ruler Mercury is in Cancer, though, the ultimate resolution is easy - go with your gut.

Sunday 6/10 * Moon in Aries. If you had a little too much Friday night, sweat it out with some *exercise.* Mars in Aries just a few more weeks, so take advantage of muscles primed for motion and today's mood to move.

Have a stellar week!

Peace and love,
Jonathan Pearl

Wandering Stars - the planets

Mercury * in Cancer. Mercury out of Gemini into Cancer traded a speedy scooter whipping around town (Gemini) for a boat (Cancer). This past week with Full Moon in Sag, Mercury was getting his sea legs yet feeling fine in a great big glorious yacht. However, with Moon now waning, size slowly decreasing until Mercury will be paddling around in a raft. The metaphor: our minds are dominated by feelings now. We have deep intuitive perception, but may need to weather some waves before we arrive at the calm still water where we can see ideas like looking at tropical fish in the Caribbean. Mercury soon Rx so in Cancer through August 4.

Venus * in Cancer, into Leo. Nigella morphs into Madonna. Venus in Leo loves to create, be seen, loved and #1. Adoration in love gives you true heart's devotion and protection in return. Commit the crimes of ignoring or betraying the beautiful one, though, and your artery will be severed with one swipe of the lion's paw. Venus in Leo through July 14.

Mars * in Aries. Mars in Aries lights our fire, kicks our butt, gets us moving, turns us on, speeds us up, hits us hard. Hit hard back. Mars in Aries through June 24.

Jupiter * in Sagittarius. Jupiter is opportunities and expansion and in his home sign of Sag, improvements and abundance come easy. But Santa now retrograde, so gifts on hold for a few months. Jupiter in Sagittarius through December 2007.

Saturn * Direct in Leo. Important foundations that have been on hold start advancing again. Saturn direct April 19 and in Leo through September 2007.

Dragon's Head * in Pisces. We advance towards peace, arts and spirituality, and partnerships are also a must. Without the sweet embrace of love, substitutes can be not just an occasional indulgence but a routine.

Dragon's Tail * in Virgo. As placements go, this is a bit tough. The Dragon's Tail is like the tai-chi master doing quiet movements but little else. How does this function in the sign of accomplishment through detail & perfection? We let go of ways we are unnecessarily restrictive. Hard work is a virtue, but unless guided by a Pisces wholeness will never bring us true peace.
